By browsing our website, creating an account, or using ArtistOS (hereinafter the “Platform”), you agree to this Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”).

ArtistOS is release-operations software for independent music artists. It helps you plan releases, track readiness, manage approvals, activity, and optional public artist sites and media kits. This Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use the Platform.

If you do not accept this Policy, stop using the Platform immediately.

This Policy does not apply to third-party websites linked from the Platform. Review those sites’ policies before using them.

1. Information Collection

We may collect personal information when you interact with ArtistOS, including:

  • Account and identity data: name, email address, and authentication identifiers from our identity provider (Clerk);
  • Artist and release data you enter: profile details, releases, tracks, contributors, assets, approvals, activity, public-site settings, blog posts, and media-kit content;
  • Payment-related data for optional paid features (for example custom domain purchases) processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers;
  • Technical data: IP address, browser/device information, and usage logs needed to operate and secure the service.

2. Use of Data

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform;
  • Authenticate you, provision your account, and associate your artist workspace;
  • Host optional public artist sites, share tokens, and generate media kit PDFs you request;
  • Process optional payments (e.g. domain registration) and related support;
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Disclosure Practices

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only:

  • With service providers who process data for us (hosting, auth, payments, email, analytics, domain registrars, CDN/TLS) under appropriate agreements;
  • When required by law, court order, or lawful request;
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or equivalent protections;
  • With your direction or consent (e.g. publishing a public site).

Public content you choose to publish (artist site, blog, live media kit) is visible to anyone with the URL or share token.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including account operation, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably practicable.

5. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong password and protect your account credentials.

6. Third-Party Services

The Platform relies on third parties such as Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), cloud hosting and object storage, and optionally a domain registrar and Cloudflare for custom hostnames. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies in addition to ours.

7. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the Platform (and emailed when appropriate). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

8. Accessing and Modifying Your Data

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law. Contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Withdrawing consent may limit your ability to use the Platform.
